A Statement of Philosophy
and
The Laws of the Game

The Basic Tenets of Our Philosophy Follow:
- The Game is to be played for the sake of our participants, your children
- We believe that each child should play at least half of every game
- We do not honor individuals or team in our Association, because we believe in teaching the game, and let winning and outstanding play be just a by product of the effort of our coaches and players
- We have adopted certain rules in order to maximize the potential to learn and enjoy the game
The Responsibilities of the Coach:
- To provide leadership
- To provide and atmosphere conducive to learning the game, sportsmanship, and the value of participation
- To render fair and equitable treatment for all
- To demonstrate mature behavior at all times
- To assist in the education of team parents as to the philosophy of the league and their role as parents and spectators
- Make parents and players knowledgeable of your expectations
- Be concerned about the healthful well-being of each team member
- To issue and collect all equipment given to you at the beginning of the season
- To provide parents and players with a copy of the schedule for play and practice
- To become more aware of the physical, emotional, and social development of the players under their direction
The Responsibilities of the Player:
- To display good sportsmanship and play within the laws of the game and intended spirit thereof
- To maintain a level of fitness that will enable you to perform to the best of your ability
- Respect for the coach(es) and the decisions they make on your behalf
- Respect the referee in his role as the one person who interprets the laws of the game
- To develop an understanding of the laws of the game
- Be punctual and maintain regular attendance for all team functions
- Soccer is a team sport, do your best to improve the total team performance, as teams succeed, so do individuals
- Work hard to improve during each practice and game. Be the best that you can
- Have a healthy outlook for your opponents, because without them, there is no match
- Assist in maintaining your playing fields so that we can all take pride in their condition
The Responsibilities of the Parents:
- Support your child's efforts as a player
- Reinforce the principles of good sportsmanship and team play
- Good spectators recognize the efforts of both the team their child plays on and that of the opposition
- Understand the laws of the game
- Understand the physical, emotional, and social development in order that you may better understand why he/she performs as they do
- Assist the coach and league in whatever way that you can
